The magnetic hotplate stirrer (or hot plate stirrer or hot plate magnetic stirrer) is used for mixing and heating aqueous solutions for a great variety of chemical reactions such as synthesis. Lab1st hot plate magnetic stirrer is designed for digital + heating + stirring operation mode, with a maximum temperature of 550°C. Heating and stirring are performed at the same time, and the LCD screen displays temperature, speed, and time at the same time. It is simple and precise to operate, and is equipped with a speed switch to start and stop stirring at any time.
A magnetic stirrer or magnetic mixer is a laboratory device that stirs liquids by using a rotating magnetic field to rapidly spin a stirring rod (or flea) immersed in the liquid. A rotating magnetic field can be generated by a rotating magnet placed beneath a container of liquid, or by a set of stationary electromagnets. A hot plate is a laboratory tool used to heat samples evenly. Hotplates provide less heat without the dangers associated with the higher temperatures of open flames and Bunsen burners. An overhead stirrer or overhead mixer is a common piece of equipment used in laboratories for homogenizing, mixing, suspending and recirculating highly viscous or large volumes of material. When a magnetic stirrer is not available, an overhead stirrer is usually used. A powerful, microprocessor-controlled motor and magnet provide reliable and consistent stirring for the immersion magnetic stir bar. The robust heater brings the sample to the required temperature quickly and efficiently. Some digital hotplates and magnetic stirrers feature separate LED displays for temperature, speed and time, with enhanced electronics to adjust heating and stirring and store the last used settings for repeated procedures. The low-profile design of many magnetic hot plate stirrers makes them easy to store and install into a fume hood.
